The Board

ELTO is governed by a Board of ten directors drawn from member insurers, run off specialists, professional services and the bodies that represent brokers and employers. That mix means the people who set ELTO's direction include those who submit data to the database, those who rely on it, and those who represent the businesses that buy employers' liability cover.

The board meets at least four times a year and pays close attention to corporate risks, regulatory matters and key performance indicators. It agrees the annual programme of work, has set the organisation's risk appetite and approved a formal risk management process supported by an enterprise risk register, and confirms each year that ELTO has complied with the FCA's requirements under ICOBS 8.4.9R.
