Articles of Association approved at ELTO AGM

2 mins | Information

We are pleased to confirm that, following a vote at today’s virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM), Members have approved the adoption of new Articles of Association.

This positive outcome is the result of several months of detailed planning, consultation and collaboration across the organisation and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all involved for their continued engagement and support throughout the process.

The updated Articles strengthen our legal and governance framework, ensuring proportional contributions across the membership and promoting greater fairness and consistency in membership rights. The changes will also broaden our funding base, reduce administrative complexity, and lessen dependence on larger Members - important steps in supporting long-term sustainability and ability to deliver an future-proofed service for all stakeholders.

Quote from Steve Browne, Chair of ELTO

“Today’s vote marks an important milestone for ELTO and reflects the dedication and thoughtful engagement of everyone involved. The approval of our new Articles of Association strengthens our governance and positions us for a more sustainable and equitable future. It’s particularly meaningful that this AGM coincides with the launch of ELD NextGen, our major transformation programme that will see the Employers’ Liability Database replatformed in 2026. With the AGM now in our rear view, we can look ahead with real excitement. ELD NextGen represents a significant investment in ELTO’s future - modernising our capabilities, improving the service we deliver to the market, and ensuring we remain resilient and responsive to evolving needs. I’m delighted by the positive momentum we are building and look forward to working with all our stakeholders as we move into this next chapter.”

Further programme updates will follow in due course.
