ELTO Membership Application Process

The majority of bodies that own liabilities for EL policies, including active and run-off insurers, have become ELTO members as the most effective way of meeting the new FSA regulations. The ELTO service levies costs from its members once they join, based on gross written premium (GWP) for EL.

A membership information pack can be requested from membership@elto.org.uk

The ELTO information pack includes:

• - Membership application form
• - Articles of Association
• - Membership rules
• - IT overview

ELTO reviews the materials provided and verifies the application before providing the insurer with the 'ELTO Membership Certificate' and, in due course, a Participating Insurers Agreement ('PIA').

Upon receipt of the ELTO Membership Certificate, the insurer is bound to the ELTO Articles and Rules.
